A Brief History
Tea has been a popular beverage as we know it for hundreds of years. But according to legend, it goes back much further to thousands of years.
The story goes like this. In 2732 B.C. Emperor Shen Nung discovered tea while sitting under a tree while his servant boiled drinking water. Leaves from a wild tree blew into his pot of boiling water and the emperor, a renowned herbalist, decided to try it. Apparently, he thoroughly enjoyed the experience and described a warm feeling as he drank the brew. The tree was Camellia Sinensis, and from that moment, tea as a warm and healing beverage was invented.
