why is Kosmea Rosehip Oil the best?

rosehips

Here’s why Kosmea’s Rosehip Oil is the best in the world

With so many Rosehip Oils to choose from on the market, how do you make a decision about which one to buy?

The quality of the Rosehip plant, the extraction method and whether the oil is refined or not, all affect the integrity of the healing properties that Rosehip Oil is known for. There is a vast difference between Rosehip Oils on the market.

The essential healing nutrients that make Rosehip Oil the potent and remarkable oil that it is, are the reasons out customers see an improvement in the texture and condition of their skin. However, if these essential nutrients are less potent, you’re not getting the full range of benefits that Rosehip Oil can provide.

We have the best quality Rosehip Oil on the market, and we are proud of the work we have done for over 28 years to perfect the process of extraction and to retain the integrity of this superb oil, from plant to bottle.

What is Rose Hip Oil?

And how it is made.

Rose hip oil is a fruit oil extracted from the hip of the rose. The hip is the fruit that is left after a rose has bloomed and the petals have dropped.

Rose hip oil can be used by any person, of any age, with any skin type. The Rose Hip Oil is easily absorbed by our skin and doesn’t leave behind any oily residue.

Kosmea Certified Organic Rose Hip Oil is extracted from wild rose hips, contains over 80% essential fatty acids and is proven to contain more Vitamin A than the other rose hip oil brands, delivering more effective results.

From plant to bottle, great care is taken to preserve the healing benefits of the Rosehip itself

From growing in wild mountainous regions, to being hand-picked and a super critical extraction process, our Rosehip Oil has the highest level of essential nutrients for your skin’s health.

Our wild, mountainous natural rosehips grow 11,000 feet above sea level.

Most rosehip companies buy the rosehip plant from Chile, we source ours from Lesotho in South Africa because the quality of the plant is far better. These rosehips are grown wild in the mountains, not farmed like most others. They grow wild and unspoilt in clean air and rich soil.

Handpicked by local families and communities.

We support many families who pick the rosehips in Lesotho, South Africa.

Watch as one of the Mums in the Lesotho community picks Rosehips with baby onboard too!

The entire fruit is used making the oil more potent.

Kosmea’s super-critical extraction process.

Our super-critical extraction process means that no heat ever comes into contact with the rosehip during the manufacturing process. Heat destroys the potent ingredients of rosehip. Cold-pressed Rosehip Oil does not have the qualities that our Rosehip Oil does. Cold pressing olive oil works because the olive is made up of 80% water, but it is not effective for the rosehip seed which only has about 5% water. The seed is very hard and cold pressing will automatically generate heat and friction causing temperatures over 30 degrees, which harms the rosehip. Therefore the term cold-pressed can be misleading to consumers.

Using a supercritical extraction process like ours is expensive which is why other Rosehip Oil companies adopt less expensive methods of manufacture instead. Our extraction process maintains the best qualities of the fruit, and therefore has the highest Vitamin A levels, more essential fatty acids, antioxidants and carotene.

Founder of Kosmea, Marie Kapetanakis, discusses the extraction process used to maintain essential qualities of Rosehip Oil at the highest levels so that your skin receives the full range of benefits.

Our Rosehip Oil is left unrefined.

We do not refine our Rosehip Oil. Most rosehip oil companies will refine their oils to remove the colour and smell because many people find them too strong. The refining process uses heat, which breaks down the essential ingredients we work so hard to preserve.

Instead, we extract and bottle the oil immediately to keep the integrity of the vitamins intact.

We package in dark glass bottles.

Light will deteriorate Rose Hip Oil. After using other brands of Rosehip Oil, you may notice a crusty or hardened substance around top of bottle which means the oil has become rancid. This happens when the oil has been heated so much that the antioxidants which are important for keeping the oil from turning rancid, have been destroyed.

With Kosmea’s oil, you can leave the bottle open for days and the oil remains intact without any rancidity or crustiness developing, or the smell changing.

Great value for money.

You’re getting the best quality Rosehip Oil at a reasonable cost. If you are using it on your skin daily, you’ll be getting the full effect of this remarkable and potent oil, which has proven benefits for a range of skin conditions.
