With quality skincare in your beauty bag, the next step is to maintain a simple and consistent skincare routine every day. The small daily habits we keep make the big difference in every area of our lives, especially for the skin we live in.
Here’s what you need to know to develop a simple daily skincare routine so that your skin feels refreshed and ready to go out into the world in the morning, and soothed, calm and ready for a restful night’s sleep in the evening.
1. Cleanse twice daily
Cleansing is an essential step in your daily skincare routine. There are many environmental toxins in the atmosphere that accumulate on your skin. A good quality cleanser will not only wipe away grime and dirt, but it will also calm and soothe your skin, retaining its natural moisture content.
Our cleansers are gentle and effective and will not strip your skin of its natural oils but retain what your skin needs for optimal health. We recommend cleaning twice daily, in the morning and evening.
2. Exfoliate daily
The skin renews itself every thirty days by shedding dead skin cells to make room for new cells. Exfoliation helps this process along and is known to improve collagen production over time which maintains the elasticity of the skin.
After cleansing, we recommend exfoliation, and our exfoliators are gentle enough to use daily. Gentle exfoliation stimulates the skin renewal process and circulation and prevents clogged pores and patches of flaky skin. Therefore your skin will more easily absorb moisturisers and serums allowing them to penetrate skin layers and do their work much more effectively.
3. Moisturise twice daily
Moisturising is vital to maintain healthy skin. There are many benefits to moisturising including:
-
- The face and neck shed skin cells much quicker than other parts of the body and are also sensitive to weather and environmental changes. These areas of the skin need moisturising and massaging to stimulate cell renewal and circulation and to help restore moisture that occurs with the faster turnover of cells.
- Moisturisers will maintain the balance of oil in the skin, so they soothe either dry or oily skin, both of which can lead to breakouts.
- When you use a moisturiser with quality nutrients, you’re giving your entire body a wonderful vitamin boost.
The best time to moisturise is straight after your shower or bath, as hot water strips the skin of its natural oils. The skin is also soft and will easily absorb the beneficial nutrients in Kosmea’s moisturisers.

4. Drink enough water
Skin forms the protective barrier between you and the world around you. Your skin stops germs from getting into your body, protects your organs from UV rays and is a sensory organ. For your skin to work optimally it needs adequate moisture. However skin can get dry, rough or sensitive to the environment around it. Therefore, drinking adequate water is essential for good quality skin. Drink at least eight cups of water a day for adequate hydration.
5. Wear sunscreen daily
Wear sunscreen daily if you’re out and about. The sun is the biggest cause of premature ageing, breaking down collagen and elastin that form a delicate matrix in the deeper layers of the skin keeping it supple. Today there are many natural sunscreen options on the market that can be used under your moisturiser.
Apply Rosehip Oil daily
Finally, Rosehip Oil can be applied to your skin under your moisturiser ideally in the evening. The essential fatty acids and high levels of vitamin A will repair, restore and renew the skin and leave your skin feeling refreshed and hydrated. Rosehip Oil is a very fine oil and is therefore absorbed into the deeper layers of the skin where it can work on supporting collagen production and skin cell renewal.
