Facial Serums versus Facial Oils – which one to use?
We are often asked by our clients when to use a facial serum and when to use a facial oil.
It’s a good question! Each one serves a different purpose and has unique benefits for the skin. This article explains the difference between them.
At Kosmea, we’ve developed facial oils and serums to help improve the quality and tone of your skin, and to treat specific skin conditions. Read on for more information.
Facial Serums
Facial serums are specifically formulated with a high concentration of active ingredients to treat and target skin conditions and are much like a water-soluble multivitamin for the skin. They are mostly water-based with smaller molecules, and this allows them to penetrate the deeper layers of the skin and assist with concerns such as fine lines, hyper-pigmentation, dull or ageing skin.
They can be applied either before or after your moisturiser, depending on your skin type.
Kosmea have created specific skincare routines which have been optimised for your skin type, using our products in the right order.
Facial Oils
Unlike facial serums, facial oils are moisturising and hydrating. They will lock in moisture providing a more protective barrier against the sun, wind and environmental toxins. Facial oils are rich in essential fatty acids and other nutrients that heal and restore the skin at a deep cellular level by boosting your skin’s collagen production.
Nature really does provide the remedies we need for healthy glowing skin!
